Education

The Education Committee provides information and support to AIW members through seminars, workshops and written resources which will help them live successfully in Central Indiana and the United States .

Several times each year we offer various educational seminars to members and their guests. In previous years, these topics have included women's health issues, immigration and visas, financial planning, resume workshops, and the American educational system.

Information about our upcoming seminars will be shown on the AIW homepage, as well as in our newsletter.

The Education Committee has also prepared a helpful guide about American schools for international families.

The AIW supported a symposium 'Growing Up Cross-Culturally - Broadening Horizons for Research' which was held on October 13-14, 2011 at Butler University, Indianapolis.  The directors of the  symposium were Fran Colley (Chair AIW Education Committee) and Ruth Van Reken (co-author of Third Culture Kids -Growing up Among Worlds www.crossculturekid.org).
