Demonstration
Members demonstrate techniques involved in cooking a specific recipe and
explain its cultural origins. Participants have a keen interest in recipes from different
countries. They share the cost of
ingredients as well as the delicious results.
Critics' Choice
This group enjoys dining out together in the evening at various local
restaurants. Occasionally, they
share their responses and recommendations through the newsletter.
Ethnic Cooks'
Luncheon
This group enjoys cooking and sharing in a noon time meal based on a
particular regional cuisine. Luncheons
are held in members' homes. Each
member is required to sign up for a committee that prepares and serves lunch for
the remaining group members (generally 18-24 people).
Evening Couples'
Dinner Group
This group is a wonderful opportunity for members and spouses or guests to
enjoy an evening of good food, wine, and conversation in the relaxing atmosphere
of members' homes. Each member is
expected to host at least one of these "pitch-in" dinners a year; the cost
of food and wine is shared equally.
Ladies' Night Out
Formerly known as Moms' Night Out, this group invites members to leave
their home obligations behind for an evening and meet for dinner and
conversation at a local restaurant.
